Salmon Fishing Forcasts

The arrival of the pinks to Washington State rivers (August and September)

Pinks are two year fish, they live for just two years, and in Washington return to spawn in only odd number years. Their runs can be very large, though in past years the have been declining. Will this year’s run continue this worrisome trend?

According to WDF&W, the Washington State fisheries salmon season is expected to have increased coho opportunities in ocean and the Columbia river, protection of wild Chinook in Puget Sound, and low pink salmon returns.
